Delighting audiences with our innovative programming is at the core of ensemble132’s mission. Below are just some of the projects we have been developing. All of them designed by our own roster artists, they reflect our mission of diversity and creativity through unique arrangements and inventive repertoire and performance style.

Schumann’s Carnaval for Piano Quartet

One of the first programs we devised explores the personal and artistic ties between one of music history's most beloved trio of friends: Clara Schumann, Robert Schumann, and Johannes Brahms.

Stravinsky’s Petrouchka: Ballet for Ensemble

Ever thought a ballet could be performed with five musicians? Neither did we, until Sam came out with his newest arrangement of Igor Stravinsky's Petrouchka.

Beethoven’s Triple: Chamber Music or Concerto?

Ludwig van Beethoven combined two of the most exciting musical ensembles, piano trio and orchestra, in his Triple Concerto, Op. 56. We took this energetic combination and created our own unique chamber music rendition!

Liszt in the Chamber Hall

For such a universally loved composer, Liszt wrote almost no chamber music. We decided to change that, but composer Camille Saint-Saens got there first with his stunning arrangement of Franz Liszt’s tone poem, Orpheus for piano trio.

Don Quixote: Storytelling Music

Cervantes’ epic and hilarious Don Quixote has been told in too many forms to count. We will “retell” it once more, adapting Strauss’s kaleidoscopic tone poem for string sextet.

Le Tombeau de Debussy (Debussy’s Tomb)

In 1920, ten composers, including Ravel, Stravinsky, and Erik Satie, crafted musical dedications to Claude Debussy in a collection called Le Tombeau de Debussy. We will recreate this moment in history, performing and arranging all ten pieces.
