In 2025 ensemble132 celebrates the 150th birthdays of Maurice Ravel and Samuel Coleridge-Taylor with our most comprehensive project yet. Both playing pivotal roles in the early 20th century as they blended styles from all over the globe, we explore these composers’ influence on other visionaries through the 20th century – from Da Falla to Miles Davis to Sariaaho. To honor Coleridge-Taylor and Ravel, we’ll trace these connections in a variety of programs and formats. This season and next, you can catch one of these programs (please see samples below), as we prepare to turn this project into our debut album (release date TBA)!
